Disney Cruise Line offers complimentary, themed kids’ clubs filled with Disney activities and entertainment.
And they offer some of the longest operating hours at sea.
Disney offers special programs for babies/toddlers, kids (3-12), tweens and teens.
Each program is designed to engage the specific age groups.
Each Disney ship offers a nursery with whimsical play areas, for children 3 months – 3 years, that are watched over by caregivers (additional fee for this age group). The space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot after your final payment, before you leave for your cruise.
Some more great new for little cruisers is that baby supplies can be ordered ahead of time to be delivered to your cabin. Items like Diaper Genies, cribs, playpens, bottle warmers, sterilizers and strollers. And do you know what?
They are free.
Holy Moly Mickey Mouse! That means less packing for you!
Inside your stateroom you will find an additional perk worth mentioning: two Wave Phones.
Wave Phones are a Disney Cruise Line signature service that allows you to call and text both onboard and at Disney’s Castaway Cay (their private island).
While aboard the ship and on Castaway Cay, reach out to your fellow travelers via Wave Phone, offering extra peace of mind. This allows you to text and call without using your personal cell phone. From your Wave Phone, you can call any shipboard phone, stateroom phone or other Wave Phone, making it easy to connect with your travel party or new friends.
Now, let’s breakdown the Youth Programs aboard Disney Cruise Ships.
Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab is for kids 3-12 years old and is designed with spaces just for them. Kids activities are designed to be as flexible as possible so your child can join in on what interests them the most.
Choose from 6 activity tracks that appeal to different interests. Things like:
- Piston Cup Challenge – Drivers build and race cars using bars of soap, ensuring lots of good, clean fun.
- Puzzle Playtime with Mickey and Friends – Mickey Mouse and his pals stop by to play games and join in on the laughs.
- Disney’s Once Upon a Time – When Bartleby the Bookmaker reads books, he makes characters come to life.
- Toy Story Boot Camp – Join Corporal Green and the Green Army Men from the hit Disney Pixar animated film for a fun-filled tour of duty.
- Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (Disney Fantasy only) – Your princess-to-be is greeted by her own fairy godmother-in-training who transforms her with a magical makeover, complete with fairy dust. On Pirate party nights, everyone is welcome and will be transformed into a pirate.
The Edge club (for tweens ages 11-14) and Vibe (for teens ages 14-17) lets kids sail with some of the coolest counselors around in separate, private spaces designed just for them. They will find music, video games, big screen TVs, cool lounge areas, onboard social intranet site, and loads of fun like:
Edge Club (ages 11-14)
- That’s Hilarious – They will be transformed into improv comedians while learning the basics of comedy games just like the stars of the Disney Channel hit, So Random!
- Ghost Voyagers – The ship is passing through mysterious waters where strange occurrences have happened in the past. Equipped with state-of-the-art ghost hunting gear, the have to find out what’s going on.
- Pizza Perfection – Answer trivia questions to win pizza toppings and create the perfect pizza. After the game is over, the pizzas are cooked and shared by the group.
Vibe (ages 14-17)
- Zombified – They’re putting the final touches on a big motion picture, Zombified! Pitch in by performing as zombies in several scenes, even some with speaking roles. Then the producer throws a Hollywood-style premier party to celebrate!
- Super Sloppy Science with Professor Make-O-Mess – Now teens can join in on some sloppy science experiments, as the professor offers some hands-on training that is both funny AND educational.
- Gotcha! – How long will you last in this game of elimination? Join the teen counselors for this all-day event. Last teen standing, wins!
- Chill Spa (Disney Dream and Fantasy)– This is a spa that offers pampering for teens only! Who can pass up a Hot Chocolate Wrap or a Me! Bath Ice Cream Manicure? You can also enjoy a Mother/Daughter Paradise Massage or Father/Son Chill Out Massage.
Private Teen Only Sundeck (Disney Dream and Fantasy) – Teens can relax on their very own sundeck with pool. No kids, no parents, just other teens…and their cool counselors too, of course.
With all of the fun options for your kids/teens to choose from in the Disney Cruise Line Kids Clubs, you can see why a Disney Cruise truly makes a magically fun vacation for everyone! Mom and Dad, you even get some guilt-free alone time!
